Role Description

The QA/QC Manager shall have experience in quality assurance and quality control in solar and wind renewable generation projects, energy storage systems (BESS), CCGT, regasification, pumps, electrical substations, and transmission lines. His/her main purpose will be to ensure strict compliance with AES quality standards and will be responsible for the documentation and submission of quality inspection reports and witnessing of FAT and SAT testing of major equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and supervise all quality-related activities on projects, applying AES requirements.

• Coordinate rigorous quality inspections in compliance with AES standards to ensure equipment functionality and compliance with project requirements, preventing non-conforming conditions and verifying the effectiveness of corrective solutions.

• Verify that AES quality requirements are specified in contracts with suppliers and contractors.

• Attend all meetings before signing equipment and EPC contracts for scope definition and coordinate all project requirements with project bidders.

• He/she will be responsible for authorizing the dispatch of the equipment for transport to the site, validating the acceptance of the FAT tests and quality dossier.

• The preparation and control of the quality system management documentation before the start of the project.

• Ensure that the AES quality system is communicated and complied with.

• Review qualifications and training requirements for quality inspection personnel.

• Responsible for equipment inspections and testing, including participation in factory and on-site testing and inspections.

• Responsible for validating project quality plans.

• Coordinate quality documentation and review of supplier records applicable to on-site activities (quality plans, test plans, procedures, ITP, PPI, certificates, etc.).

• Responsible for reviewing and agreeing with contractors and equipment manufacturers on test procedures and performance testing of CCGT, regasification, TSIA, BOS, BOP, etc. equipment.

• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with established AES quality standards and identify areas for improvement (audits).

• Conduct project visits to monitor construction activities and identify and address quality and non-compliance issues promptly.

• Review contractors' QA/QC procedures.

• Development of quality control procedures for the construction of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, during the different stages of the project.

• Coordinate quality documentation and review of supplier records applicable to on-site activities (quality plans, test plans, procedures, ITP, PPI, certificates, etc.).

• Ensure that construction materials and equipment meet required AES specifications and standards, and verify compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety requirements.

• Support commissioning and post-commissioning activities as required.

• Develop QA/QC guidelines for EPC Contracts.

• Responsible for maintaining and managing As-Built documentation of projects for better transition between Construction and O&M teams.

• Support in the review of provisional acceptance certificates and punch list.

• Control of the guarantees associated with the equipment, verification of compliance with their conditions, and their subsequent assignment to O&M.

• Coordination of the documentation to constitute the quality dossier of the Project.

• Participate and assist supervisors and safety advisors in the investigation of incidents to determine the root cause and necessary corrective actions.

• Participate in the generation of preventive and corrective action plans (cost-benefit analysis).

• Contribute to the overall continuous improvement strategy for quality-focused initiatives.

• Follow-up and timely and effective resolution of non-conformities.

Requirements:

• Educated in Electrical, Electromechanical, Civil, or related fields.

• Minimum experience of 10 years in a similar position.

• Expertise in photovoltaic projects, BESS, wind, CCGT, regasification, pumps, substations, and high-voltage lines.

• Knowledge in witnessing tests of main equipment (PV modules, DC/AC inverters, compact generation plants, rotating equipment, module assembly structure (tracker and fixed angle), BESS, WTGs, transformers, and main equipment associated with substations and transmission lines).

• Knowledge in the elaboration of quality procedures.

• Knowledge of equipment testing protocols.

• Knowledge of IEC, ANSI/IEEE, and UL equipment standards.

• Experience in certification of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000).

• Experience in Quality Management Systems audits (ISO 9000).

• Autocad, MS Office and MS Project.

• Advanced English.
