Deep experience in the North America and Latin America NVOCC and Freight Forwarding industry is required to help us meet and surpass business expectations and contribute to our company's rapid and sustainable growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of import / export process and compliance with U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations.
  • Request Sea freight quotes from qualified vendors for noncontracted lanes at the most cost effective and efficient means to transport, coordinate shipments from start to finish.
  • Responsible to secure space and book sea freight shipments as well as coordinating inland trucking pick up and deliveries.
  • Ensure bookings are made on time and in accordance with instructions
  • Prepare AES, AMS/ISF and any other required export/import documentation
  • Prepare proof of House Bills of Lading and Master Bills of Lading, ensure accuracy of information for cargo release in accordance with the Shipper's instructions and destination country requirements
  • Process prealerts and liaison with GWF Logistics Corp. overseas partners to ensure documentation is in order to prevent any Customs clearance issues.
  • Complete working files to ensure all required documentation is in sequence order in physical and virtual file for closing and FMC auditing purposes.
  • Communicate with internal and external agents, carriers and any other 3PL vendors
  • Respond swiftly to resolve any problems related to transporting the cargo to avoid delays in shipping and/or cargo release.
  • Monitor all shipments from origin to destination to ensure ontime delivery to avoid delays.
  • Updating customers on shipment status.
  • Prepare invoice freight charges and services, process payable approvals and accruals, DET/DEM, Rating issues, Rate auditing.
  • Action and resolve any billing discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Enter information pertaining to potential leads and current customers in the active CRM.
  • Help with obtaining export certificates from various government agencies in compliance with each shipment.
  • Help with insuring compliance with customs, export, applicable foreign trade/importation laws, as well as applicable federal transport regulations
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with team members and overseas offices.

Qualifications and Qualities:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • Five (5) years' experience in the US / Foreign to foreign NVOCC industry, including export and import documentation, coordinating inland trucking for LCL/FCL (Less/Full Container Load), cargo insurance, hazardous cargo, cargo consolidation/deconsolidation and rate filing with FMC.
  • Familiarity with International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS) and shipping terms.
  • Knowledge of state, federal and international applicable laws, and regulations (Federal Maritime Commission, OFAC, Interstate Commerce Commission, U.S. Customs, environmental and hazardous, import/export, maritime Air and Civil Aeronautics Board).
  • Full knowledge of air and ocean freight modes of transportation.
  • High School diploma.
  • Advanced computer skills (Experience in Magaya software is Preferred)
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and make seamless transitions between work tasks within a fastpaced work environment.
  • Work well independently with limited supervision, as well as collaboratively within the team.
  • Good communication with airlines, steamship lines and trucking companies.
  • High attention to detail with strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours, holidays and/or weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to travel domestic and international.
