CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in culinary, food, or related area.
OR

  • 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field; 2 years experience in culinary, food, or related area.

Leading Pastry Culinary Team

  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead and inspire others; demonstrate honesty and integrity; supervise employees and oversee daily operations.

  • Ensure productivity and adherence to expectations.
  • Maintain open communication and collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Lead shifts, prepare food items, and oversee food preparation operations.

Ensuring Culinary Standards and Responsibilities

  • Develop new ideas and maintain quality standards in food preparation.
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and purchasing standards.
  • Supervise pastry preparation and compliance with food & beverage policies.
  • Maintain compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and cook various types of foods and create decorative food displays.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Provide excellent service for customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Manage daily operations to meet customer expectations and standards.
  • Improve service quality by understanding guest needs and providing guidance.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations and empower employees for excellent service.

Maintaining Culinary Goals

  • Achieve performance and budget goals, develop plans to prioritize work, and train employees in safety procedures.
  • Purchase supplies and manage inventories within budget limits.

Supporting Training and Development Activities

  • Ensure completion of disciplinary procedures and training activities for staff.
  • Review staff levels to meet service and financial objectives.
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring employees with appropriate skills.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via various communication channels.
  • Analyze information, solve problems, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Attend relevant meetings and collaborate with department managers and Human Resources.
