Chemonics seeks a resident logistics advisor to provide technical assistance and local management oversight to support the implementation of Supply Chain Management (SCM) strengthening activities in Panama in close coordination with the GHSC-PSM regional manager and GHSC-PSM senior logistics advisor. He or she will support GHSC-PSM Panama technical activities and program implementation to strengthen supply chain management including governance and leadership, strategic planning, forecasting and supply planning, monitoring evaluation and learning, and procurement. The resident logistics advisor will plan, coordinate, and lead technical events and workshops with external stakeholders and will play a key role in preparing project reports and activity summaries. This position will be based in Panama City, Panama. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
**Responsibilities include**:

- Provide technical support required to implement project technical activities in Panama based on the project's strategic long-term vision and USAID priorities
- Collaborate with the project's technical leads for Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala and with the regional management to identify, plan, and oversee activities to strengthen the SCM of health commodities
- Lead the development and implementation of technical/quality standards, guidelines, and tools related to SCM strengthening interventions within the tiered network, including but not limited to forecasting and supply planning, procurement, warehousing & distribution, logistics management information systems, and human resource development in SCM
- Provide technical assistance for all SCM technical assistance activities in Panama, including designing workshops, preparing training materials, and leading technical meetings
- Provide logístical support critical to technical activities including general scheduling, trip planning, booking conference spaces, and managing stipends
- Support the logistics management information system strengthening at the national and regional levels, enabling the improvement of data visibility at the upper levels
- Assist in the preparation of high-quality regular project reports and deliverables as well as ad hoc client reporting requests
- Develop project success stories and technical briefs for Panama activities
- Support data collection and aggregation to report on key performance indicators
- Represent the GHSC-PSM project as needed at meetings, technical workshops, and events

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of five years of working experience in supply chain management in a technical capacity (desirable in health commodities and working with international cooperation projects)
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, pharmaceutical chemistry, public health sciences, logistics, or similar required; Master's degree preferred
- Proven diplomatic and interpersonal skills in working with clients and technical stakeholders and in managing client expectations and competing priorities
- Experience in capacity development and knowledge transfer. Experience in developing databases for data collection and processing
- Experience working in monitoring and evaluation reporting and data validation processes
- Experience working in interior areas of Panama, preferably familiarity with the national and local governments and institutional stakeholders in-country and availability to travel to different departments of Panama
- Excellent written and oral communication ability, including the preparation of high-quality qualitative reports and summaries
- Demonstrate leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Spanish fluency and advanced English proficiency, both verbal and written, required
