The Casco School

The Casco Schools are looking to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated High School Principal to work in our dynamic team. The position will start in August 2023.

We are seeking a visionary and motivated leader to develop and excellent team of teaching staff in the High School.

As a boutique and bilingual British school, The Casco School was established to provide high-quality education in Panama. We currently offer preschool, primary and lower secondary. Our school is united by one philosophy: we are ambitious for our students, our people and our community.

The Casco School is unique in character, offering a truly engaging global education for students, nestled in the heart of Panama's iconic old city, Casco Viejo. Our school is creative, dynamic, based around a strong community of families all seeking a neighbourhood school with a difference. We have families enrolled from around the world, all wishing to align with our international ethos.

We aim to inspire our students to learn, explore and soar, developing them into confident, creative and balanced global citizens who face challenges with determination, eagerness and excitement. We offer an unparalleled standard of personalised education with opportunities for students to explore their creative side and learn from the very best international teachers in small groups. We have a co-teacher model with English and Spanish-speaking teachers in each classroom working in collaboration to personalise learning.

The Casco High School will follow the Cambridge secondary curriculum until IGCS, following this the High School fill follow the International Bachelorette Diploma Program. In August 2023 we will offer years 7 to year 11, We will then open one grade per year to complete our high school by 2025.

About the Role

A Bachelor of Education degree or a PGCE from an accredited university, and QTS or other internationally recognised teaching qualification

Recognised leadership training

At least five years of recent experience in whole-class teaching of the Primary UK National Curriculum

At least 2 years of leading a UK National Curriculum school

Training and Knowledge of IGCSE

Trinaing and knowledge of International Bachelorette

Secure knowledge of excellent classroom practice in teaching, learning, assessment and reporting

A willingness and enthusiasm to collaborate with the group director and primary principals to develop our community of schools

Secure knowledge of safeguarding and child protection best practice
