Allied Steel Buildings, Inc. is seeking a qualified Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will work to ensure compliance with financial and operational policies and procedures, assuring accurate and timely financial transactions are recorded, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

**Responsibilities**:

- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.
- Resolve discrepancies and irregularities found during the reconciliation process.
- Sales Tax Compliance
- Review of monthly sales data for compliance with state and local sales tax
- Liaise with external tax filers to provide required information and ensure timely filing of sales tax returns.
- Fixed Asset Depreciation Reporting
- Maintain a fixed asset register and calculate depreciation for all assets.
- Ensure accurate tracking of additions, disposals, and transfers of assets.
- Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
- Perform daily reconciliation of bank and credit card transactions to the general ledger.
- Investigate and correct any discrepancies or unusual transactions.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Intercompany Transactions
- Facilitate and reconcile transactions between the company and its subsidiaries or related entities.
- Revenue and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) Building Project Post Mortems
- Analyze completed projects to compare budgeted revenues and costs against actual figures.
- Perform Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Reviews to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Regularly audit data within the CRM system to verify its accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to correct data discrepancies.
- Detailed Operating Expenses review
- Examine monthly operating expenses to ensure they are within budget and properly recorded.
- Investigate variances and provide explanations for significant discrepancies.
- Support Annual Budget preparation
- Assist in the preparation and development of the annual budget.
- Benefit Bill Reconciliations/Payments
- Reconcile monthly benefit statements and ensure accurate employee deductions and company contributions.
- Process benefit bill payments and maintain records.
- Administrative Support for Finance and Project Operations
- Provide administrative assistance for financial operations, including document management, scheduling, and communication coordination.
- Support project teams with administrative tasks to facilitate the smooth operation of financial aspects of projects.
- Annual 1099 Preparation
- Coordinate the collection of necessary vendor information and prepare 1099 forms annually.
- Distribute 1099 forms to vendors and file with the IRS in a timely manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned that support the finance department’s objectives.
- Adapt to evolving business needs and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and increase departmental efficiency.

**Qualifications**:

- 1-3 years of previous experience in accounting or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Experience using accounting and CRM software
- Experience using Google Workplace software; including, Sheets, Docs, Drive, etc.
- Detail-oriented and diligent in ensuring compliance and accuracy
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial statements
- Experience in collecting and analyzing financial data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills, both independently and in a team environment
