Supervisory Health Communication Specialist

The incumbent will serve as the Branch Chief, Enterprise Technology, Division of Digital Media in the Office of the Associate Director of Communication (OADC). The incumbent will be responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating the programs of the Branch and providing leadership and overall direction for the Branch. The incumbent will participate in developing program policy and objectives, short and long-term goals, program strategies, and operating policies. RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Supervisory Health Communication Specialist you will: Serve as the agency expert and leader by providing standards, best practices, and guidance for agency use of digital communication systems and platforms.
Support the ability to develops digital based health communication campaigns that integrate innovative digital media tools with research-driven strategies to ensure that protects and promotes the health of diverse audiences both nationally and internationally. Plan, organize, oversee and direct the activities of the Branch, ensuring that digital media communication activities comply with Federal and legal requirements, presents a credible picture of and meets customer needs. Serve as digital media liaison to component organizations and public affairs and communications organizations collaborating or partnering with significant public health issues impacting regional, national and international publics. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience leading digital media systems, understanding enterprise communication needs, and developing innovative digital tools.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
