At ABB Marine and Ports in Panama, we are focused on electrifying Container Terminals globally. Ports have many electrical consumers, such as Ship-to-Shore Cranes, Stacking Cranes, Reefer sockets, Shore Power, electric vehicles, and buildings. Within our team in Panama, we design and build electrical and automation infrastructure to provide reliable and sustainable power to our customers, enabling them to handle containers efficiently. Our scope includes Medium Voltage Substations, SCADA systems, Terminal Lighting, Reefer racks and their electrical systems, Electrical Vehicle charging infrastructure, and Grid Connection substations, among others. Our core products are prefabricated substations built in our facilities in Panama. These substations are fully tested and commissioned before they arrive at the construction site. These substations include medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, low-voltage switchgear, UPS, DC systems, SCADA, Fire Alarms, and climate control systems. Our project locations span the globe, covering the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. They typically take around 24 months to complete. **Your role and responsibilities**:
Our team is dedicated to excellence, and we are looking for a skilled Structural Mechanical Designer to join us in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our core products. He or She will the responsible for designing our substations and ensure compliance with our quality standards. Key Responsibilities The Structural Mechanical Designer will be responsible for designing, testing, and ensuring the mechanical integrity and isolation quality of our prefabricated substation. This role involves working closely with the production team to identify and resolve any mechanical issues, ensuring that all units meet the ABB’s quality standards and customer specifications. 1. Analysis of mechanical structural designs. 2. Preparation of technical reports on structural assessments 3. Perform dimensional control 4. Examine and approve construction plans to ensure they comply with relevant codes and regulations 5. Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities. Including the certification and specifications of the material used. 6. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and ABB policies. 7. Maintaining Quality Standards: High-quality standards are essential for customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance. Detailed inspections ensure that every component meets these standards (dimensional control, welding quality, painting process, material quality). 8. Enhancing Reliability: Detailed checks and tests ensure that mechanical systems function reliably, which is critical for the long-term performance of the buildings. 9. Supporting Continuous Improvement: By meticulously documenting findings and providing feedback, you contribute to ongoing improvements in manufacturing processes and product quality

**Qualifications for the role**:

- Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Structural engineer or related field. With more than 5 years of experience.
- Proven experience Designing structures
- Fluent English
- Experience with Autocad, Revit auto desk Robot, 3D Design
