**CREATE YOUR FUTURE METROPOLITAN SCHOOL OF PANAMA Location**: PANAMA We’re looking to recruit a Secondary Math Teacher to join our Metropolitan School of Panama school, a Nord Anglia Education school. THE SCHOOL The MET opened its doors in August 2011 and has since, become one of Panama’s leading international schools, o ? ering classes to students from Early Childhood through 12th grade. The MET celebrated its first graduating class in May 2016.
Originally located within the City of Knowledge in the Panama City suburb of Clayton; in the Fall of 2020, the MET opened a new purpose-built facility of over 5.5 hectares in Green Valley, Panama. Implementing state-of-the-art technology, the new facilities will allow the MET to continue teaching an innovative curriculum in world-class facilities. In 2017, the school joined Nord Anglia Education (NAE), the world’s leading premium school organization, uniting with 80 other premium schools in 32 countries around the world. NAE’s global family of schools share a common philosophy that there is no limit to what its students can achieve.
Through NAE’s global network, the MET participates in premium collaborations with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), The Juilliard School, and King’s College London. These programs enhance learning opportunities for students in the performing arts and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), and o ? er teachers a unique opportunity for professional development. THE ROLE The Metropolitan School of Panama is seeking an experienced full-time teacher to work with our students in 9, 10, 11, and 12 grades.
The Math Teacher builds and maintains a successful IB Diploma Programme within the school by providing an educational atmosphere conductive to learning and developing through the process of inquiry. ABOUT YOU You will be able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will possess a university degree, a recognized teaching qualification, and teaching experience. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative methods to raise the school’s level of achievement. Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school.
You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Panama including holding a bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education. For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, our students achieved a 36.2 global point average and a 98% pass rate, with over 20 students earning a perfect score of 45. In the A-levels, our students achieved 65.4% of grades at A*-A, along with 83.7% at A*-B, with a group-wide pass rate of 99.4%, and seven schools achieved a perfect 100% pass rate.
