- Contributing to the efficient implementation of the projects ‘Strengthening Ocean Management in the CBC Initiative’, ‘Coastal resilience in Dominica - Green Climate Fund’ ‘Resilient livelihoods in coastal communities in Costa Rica and Panama - Adaptation Fund’ by Delivering the following products: Outputs - Reviewing project documentation from this initiative. - Compile, in an orderly and strategic manner in a document, the resilient livelihoods found within the scope of the project. Product 1. Climate resilient livelihoods baseline summary document with case studies on resilient livelihoods in the CBC region. Outputs - Identification and comprehensive analysis of relevant funding sources for ecosystem-based adaptation in the target region. - Development of a detailed framework of criteria and requirements for accessing specific funding opportunities. - Creation of a clear and concise guidance document highlighting best practices and strategies for fund acquisition. Product 2. Guidance document on funding opportunities for ecosystem-based adaptation in CBC, including opportunities for scaling the initiative and potential areas of focus for the development of other concept notes. The sustainable coastal management specialist consultant will provide technical guidance into the overall management and coordination of the corresponding Caribbean Biological Corridor activities, including elaborating and compiling key baseline information on climate vulnerability, resilient livelihoods and adaptation planning in the region. He/she will also be responsible for the planning, and implementation of stakeholder dialogues as well as project monitoring, to ensure project´s objectives and results fulfilment, according to the requirements of UNEP and the Embassy of Norway. The sustainable coastal management specialist consultant will perform the following tasks: - Provide backing and coordinate the execution of the Caribbean Biological Corridor project and other UNEP initiatives. - Provide technical guidance and collaborate with the implementation of output 1.3 in the “Strengthening Ocean management project in the CBC” particularly by developing baseline assessments for climate change adaptation in key marine-coastal communities including the compilation of climate vulnerability assessments of the region. - Prepare a baseline study of resilient livelihoods in the region (in alignment and collaboration with existing initiatives/projects), compiling adaptation planning experiences at local level. - Technically lead the development of a workshop with local stakeholders and ongoing projects in the region to review and discuss results from vulnerability assessments, and local planning experiences, prepare inputs, agenda, list of attendees, presentations among other key for the workshop logistics in coordination with the CBC Secretariat and technical team, as well as the Climate adaptation and admin teams in UNEP. - Define, in coordination with UNEP and relevant government counterparts the overall project implementation strategy ensuring that project activities are aligned to the national strategies and regulations, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and adaptation regulations, and integrated to national and subnational programmes, as relevant. - Ensure coordination of project activities with the CBC Secretariat, the relevant Ministries, relevant Institutions, other UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes, and NGOs. - Provide technical inputs to the studies and processes for the formulation of project proposals to be submitted to GCF and AF. - Collaborate with the preparation of cooperation agreements with different partners and stakeholders according to the project implementation/development strategy. - Provide feedback to coastal adaptation pre-concepts, concepts and full-proposals, as well as guidance on responding to comments from review committees and funds, especially on components of coastal Ecosystem-based Adaptation interventions/strategies. - Identify new relevant partners for the implementation and sustainability of the project, maintain the relationship and ensure synergies with the current and new partners and relevant initiatives. - Guarantee the accomplishment of environmental and social safeguards, and that gender and vulnerable communities’ policies are duly implemented in all project activities. - Contribute with the preparation of work, travel, and procurements plans, in accordance with the guidelines and requirements of UNEP for the corresponding consultative processes. - Provide guidance to the procurement processes and contract, services and goods, including the quality control of terms of
