Balboa Academy is located in the City of Knowledge, Ciudad del Saber, Clayton, Panama City, Republic of Panama. The school is comprised of four air-conditioned buildings, one each for our Pre-school/High School, Elementary School, and Middle School.

The fourth building is our Athletics Building which includes our gymnasium, Physical Education facilities, and Dragon's Den. Additionally, our campus has athletic fields and recreational areas with playground equipment. We have over 80 classrooms and our campus includes media centers, computer labs, science labs, and multipurpose rooms. The SPED position involves working closely with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the educational needs of students with disabilities or special educational needs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Individual Education Plans: Develop, implement, and review individualized education plans for students with special needs, in collaboration with teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.

**Classroom Support**: Provide support and assistance to teachers in adapting curriculum materials, instructional methods, and assessments to meet the diverse needs of students with SPED. Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor students' progress and identify areas for additional support or intervention. Inclusion: Promote inclusive practices within the school environment, ensuring that students with SPED are fully integrated into classroom activities and school events. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies (e.g., educational psychologists, speech therapists) to meet the diverse needs of students with SPED.

**Parental Involvement**: Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding students' progress, goals, and support strategies. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: A bachelor's degree in special education, psychology, or a related field (for teaching positions). Relevant experience working with students with special needs or disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
