What the role is As our Director of Human Resources, you will be an integral part of our senior management team and will play a key role in driving our organization's success. You will be tasked with assembling a team that will oversee all aspects of HR management, including developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with our organizational goals and objectives. This will include managing recruitment and selection, employee relations, benefits, and compensation, while ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and developing talent to support our strategic objectives, while also managing employee conflicts and disputes.

You will play a critical role in maintaining a positive and productive workplace culture that encourages employee engagement and retention. In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will be involved in long-term planning and strategy development to help us achieve our goals. This may include evaluating potential new initiatives, creating and implementing protocols and procedures, and developing a talent pipeline. As our Director of Human Resources, you will be a key player in helping us achieve our organizational objectives and drive our business forward.

At least 10 years of experience in human resources management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (experience in hospitality human resources preferred). Experience in building out a Human Resources department for a dynamic startup (preferred). Strong knowledge of, and experience with, Panamanian labor law and regulations (experience in neighboring countries as well preferred).

Experience in developing & implementing HR policies and procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, management and other stakeholders. Ability to manage and motivate a team of HR professionals. Experience in managing employee benefits programs.

Experience in recruiting, hiring and training employees. Experience in managing employee relations and conflict resolution. Knowledge of compensation and benefits programs & strategies. Knowledge of performance management and employee evaluation systems.

Experience in employee training and development programs. Experience in managing the administration of payroll. Experience in managing HR-related legal manners, compliance, and audits. Knowledge of HRIS & other relevant software programs.

Develop and maintain HR-related policies and procedures to ensure compliance Manage HR-related legal matters, including disputes and grievances Collaborate with legal counsel as needed Monitor and address any potential HR-related compliance risks Keep up-to-date with relevant legal and regulatory changes Understand HR regulation and implications for any new market the company may enter. Recruitment & Retention Oversee recruitment & hiring process of new employees, including developing job descriptions, preparing offer letters, contracts. Develop, recruit for and oversee internship & work exchange programs. Provide appropriate salary ranges for positions based on regional standards and competitors.

Provide research on salary ranges for potential new markets to operations during due diligence and analysis phases. Develop and implement effective recruitment and retention strategies Manage the recruitment and selection process for all positions Oversee onboarding and orientation processes Develop and provide access to tools, policies, and training materials required for successful onboarding and continued performance. Develop and implement employee retention programs Coordinate with the Director of Operations and Director of F&B to implement performance-based incentive programs. Monitor and address employee turnover rates Develop and
