About the Role
This is a highly skilled position for an experienced Petrochemical Inspector to join our team at Core Laboratories. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for performing complex petrochemical inspections of vessels, rail/road cars, and shore tanks.
Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking an individual with a strong background in petroleum, chemical, and gas inspection procedures who can carry out their activities in accordance with individual client instructions, Saybolt Standard procedures, Global Safety Manual, risk assessment, local standards/safety rules, and Core Laboratories/Saybolt company policies.
The successful candidate will attend training and pass examinations in petroleum, chemical, and gas inspection procedures, hazardous materials transportation, and other safety training required by applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing visual cleanliness inspections of vessels, rail/road cars, or shore tanks
- Verifying the accuracy of measurement equipment and maintaining it in proper working order
- Determining quantity by measuring physical fluid bulk, density, temperature, and metering
- Performing sampling of petrochemical fluids as per international or other standards and labeling and storing them correctly
- Awareness of analytical test methods and ability to perform basic analytical tests according to standardized procedures
- Completing inspection reports on the computer
- Providing training and coaching to lower-level Inspectors
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum high school/secondary education or equivalent, a minimum 1-year experience as an Inspector III, IFIA Certified Inspector of Petroleum or equivalent, and be physically fit to lift items up to 20 kg (or in accordance with local regulations).
You should also possess advanced knowledge of Petrochemical products, chemicals, or other liquid cargo, good verbal and written knowledge of the local language and English, and the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
A valid driving license and satisfactory driving record are also essential.
Work Environment
This role requires frequent travel, inspecting tanks, which includes working at heights and confined spaces. The employee must be mobile, rely on senses (sight, talk, hear, smell), and be able to lift items up to 20 kg (or in accordance with local regulations). The employee will be required to work irregular hours/shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays) and work away from their base office.
Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
