Accountability - We believe in personal responsibility as the foundation of success. The Local Program Assistant (LPA) oversees the development and implementation of IRI projects.
Supports the Local Program Officer in the development of the program strategy, writing program and report proposals, organizing and implementing program activities, conducting program monitoring and evaluation, overseeing program budgets, and administrative management of the project. The Local Program Assistant reports directly to the Local Program Officer and the Resident Country Director.Has the following responsibilities: Propose ideas, assess and design new programmatic interventions consistent with the objectives of the IRI program and the available budgets.Study, write and edit urgent documents for the program and budgets, activity reports, financing proposals and training materials.Study, write and edit program documents, news summaries and training materials.Provide efficient and timely action on administrative and accounting matters, written assignments and reporting.Update and maintain the files and contacts of the program for monitoring and evaluation purposes, and generation of internal reports.Support the RPO/RCD to manage and maintain relationships and communication with government officials, local partners, members of the diplomatic community and donors on behalf of their supervisor. On occasion, attend public activities, such as conferences, as a representative of IRI, at the direction of their supervisor. Work in conjunction with the Local Program Officer to monitor and evaluate the performance of IRI and the activities of partner organizations, identifying successes and failures and recommending adjustments to the program accordingly.Assist the Local Program Officer in the administration of the projects and objectives.
Together with other staff, carry out program activities and deliverables based on an established work plan.Support program staff in complying with periodic monitoring and evaluation reports and data collectionPropose and negotiate contracts with suppliers and grant agreements with partners as necessary for the implementation of the projects;Travel on certain occasions, independently and / or as part of a team, to various places to support the programmatic objectives of the IRI.Carry out any other work that is assigned. Qualifications Behaviors : Motivations : Required Bachelors or better in Political Science or related field. Experience Required -Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. -Budgeting and procurement experience preferred.
