Riverside Youth Coordinator (Fixed Term)

We are seeking a passionate and creative Riverside Youth Coordinator to join ATWC in partnership with the Auckland City Council and Panama Community. This fixed-term, full-time role (30 hours per week, Monday to Friday) will run until June 2026 and is based in the Panama community, Ōtāhuhu.
You will lead, facilitate, and broker programmes and activities for children aged 6-11, supporting connection, engagement, and wellbeing while strengthening resilience in meaningful and mana-enhancing ways. There will also be opportunities to engage whānau and key community stakeholders.

About the Role
As Riverside Youth Coordinator, you will plan, develop, and deliver programmes that engage children aged 6-11. You will foster strong relationships with tamariki, encouraging participation, inclusion, and positive behaviours. You will also engage with whānau and the wider community, supporting meaningful connections and enhancing overall wellbeing.
This is a fixed-term, full-time role of 30 hours per week, running until June 2026.
What We’re Looking For
You will be:
- Passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children aged 6-11
- Skilled at planning, organising, and facilitating activities both inside and outside the community
- Able to build trusting relationships with tamariki and whānau
- Knowledgeable about the challenges children and young people face today
- Confident engaging with children while understanding youth culture
- Flexible, proactive, and solution-focused
Skills and Experience
- Experience working with children
- Knowledge of the Panama community (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to value and amplify the voice of children
- Understanding of youth culture and challenges facing young people
- Full NZ Driver’s Licence
