**This role**

As a Software Engineer within PayJoy’s team, you will build the technology to support millions of customers worldwide. Our unique locking technology combines our proprietary “secret sauce” and the effective use of data to give users credit-based products in emerging markets. We're also focused on world-class app design, web frontend and backend, and partner API integrations. As a key part of PayJoy’s global engineering team, you need to be up for any technical challenge and willing to learn new technologies.

**Responsibilities**:
- Code software primarily in Python (Django), PHP
- Design and build RESTful services and API integrations with 3rd party payment providers
- Build payment integrations with 3rd party Payment vendors
- Build producers/consumers to propagate data downstream
- Design data models that align with long term data strategy
- Write design documentation for services that will include diagrams and proposed models (tables).

**Requirements**:
- Proficient knowledge of back-end programming languages (5+ years) Python (Django), PHP
- Proficient in designing and building RESTful services and APIs
- Proficient in database schema design (Relational DBs, MYSQL, Postgres)
- Good understanding of integration with 3rd party payment providers
- Good understanding of data streaming solutions (ex: Kafka)
- Solid understanding of caching solutions (ex: Memcache, Redis)
- Solid understanding of scheduling solutions (ex: Celery)
- Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus.
- Solid understanding of JWT authentication.
