Provide expert assistance in techniques such as logistic regression analysis, categorical data analysis, multiple regression analysis, and techniques involving mixed models, and applies innovative analytical approaches to surveillance and epidemiological investigations. Provide authoritative advice on optimal research design and analysis methods and on the impact that alternative research/study designs may have on study analysis and validity. Provide training in standard and state-of-the-art and emerging statistical methods for statisticians and non-statisticians within and outside Branch. Perform evaluation of methodology used in specified health program studies to ensure the results are valid and reliable.

Develop databases to identify scientific and/or health-related trends. Special projects in this area include, but are not limited to, improving the portion of the database and collection forms involving specific health care and self-management in managed care settings for various diseases and/or chronic conditions. Independently identifies optimal computer software for rapidly advancing research efforts in the statistical analysis of infectious disease, chronic disease, environmental health, and injury data.
