Quality Assurance Laboratory Manager

Job Description AECOM has an immediate opportunity available for a Quality Assurance Laboratory Manager for employment in Panama City, Panama.
**The responsibilities include but are not limited to**: Manage day to day lab operation and verify testing requests and prepare work forecast.
Carry out laboratory tests, as required, including concrete and aggregate and advanced soils testing procedures.
Perform advanced soils testing (i.e., consolidation, UCS rock testing, triaxial and direct shear).
Ensure testing quality and train junior staff.
Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained in accordance with specifications and perform calibrations and routine repairs of laboratory instrumentation.
Maintain an organized laboratory environment including soil inventory and equipment.
An understanding of ASTM and CSA Standards.
Participate in the CCIL and MTO Proficiency Testing.
Prepare laboratory testing reports.
Supervise and lead QA/QC Construction testing and inspection including field staff orientation and prepare technical reports. Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, subcontractors, engineering consultants and other external agencies.
Prepare proposals for medium to high complexity projects for various geotechnical scope of work.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in related field + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Relevant experience with Dam projects including inspection, rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
Experience in performing inspection, design, and/or engineering activities in dams or water retaining structures Experience with laboratory soil testing procedures ranges from low to high complexity Bilingual - English and Spanish Preferred Qualifications 10 years or more experience including relevant experience with Dam projects including inspection, rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
Excellent interpersonal skills, staff supervision, strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution abilities Excellent written communications and presentation abilities in internal project settings with the project team, external project stakeholders, and leadership.
