**SUMMARY FOR THE POSITION**:
The Sustainable Operations Manager (Americas) is responsible for driving results under VF’s S&R department within the Americas region. The leader in this role partners with the America’s supply chain factories to drive improvements in all responsible sourcing focus areas, including factory compliance, worker safety, environmental sustainability, traceability and worker and community development. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for recruiting and managing regional staff (the Americas Sustainable Operations Team), to achieve results, as well as build the Sustainable Operations strategy for the Americas region in close collaboration with regional supply chain teams. The Senior Manager leverages their business acumen and passion for driving social and environmental change within a complex, global supply chain to integrate their work with regional business leadership.

**HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**:
**1. **Team Management & Development**:

- Directly manages a team of Sustainable Operations Specialists, providing technical guidance, visionary and strategic multi-year and annual workplan development, as well as general day to day management support.
- Translates business and team strategies to actionable annual workplans and tasks for the team.
- Assigns projects and tasks to team members based on deep understanding of their roles, skill sets, and career development aspirations while also supporting country/regional needs and objectives.
- Engages with the team on a regular basis to problem solve, enhance collaboration within S&R and with other departments, and understand and act on challenges and opportunities that arise.
- Supports team members’ career growth and success through tools and resources such as workplans (OGSTMs), Individual Development Plans (IDPs), Growth Assignments (GAs) and others.
- Ensures team is held accountable for meeting deadlines and goals according to workplans and overarching strategies, while enabling team members to grow their careers productively and proactively in alignment with their individual career aspirations.

**2. **Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Act as a key point of contact for external stakeholders in the Americas region as it relates to worker rights and labor groups, environmental groups, and others that contact VF or our factories for information.
- When necessary, build trusting, productive relationships with external stakeholders in alignment with strategic objectives and program managers’ input.
- Collaborate internally with various stakeholders on issues or engagements that arise. This includes, but is not limited to: Worker Rights Manager, External Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Environmental Sustainability Manager, Responsible Sourcing VP, S&R VP, Sourcing leadership in the Americas, Factory Compliance leadership, and others.
- Provide recommendations on who and how to approach external stakeholders based on the issue, the relationships of the external players, and the context of the region.
- Proactively connect and build productive working relationships internally with various stakeholders in and out of the S&R department to understand needs, provide insights and advisory, solve problems, obtain alignment on decisions, and enhance connectivity between S&R and other departments.
- Communicates with and represents S&R to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, as it relates to S&R supply chain programs, conveying the work in terms of its context, value, data findings, insights, and recommendations while adapting communication style to match the audience and scenario.

**3. **Program Specific Advisory and Implementation**:
**Environmental Sustainability**:

- Within the Americas region, ensure each factory’s understanding of the Higg Index Facility Environmental Module (FEM), and completion of self-assessments and/or verification exercises according to the annual plan.
- Support the S&R Environmental Sustainability team in clarifying a strategic approach toward reaching VF’s Science Based Targets (SBTs) in the Americas region, providing regional context and recommendations.
- In collaboration with the S&R Environmental Sustainability team, support the Americas Sustainable Operations team in creating roadmaps for factories to reach VF’s SBT’s.
- Provide advisory and implementation support for the S&R Environmental Sustainability team’s annual objectives, including wastewater standard enforcement, energy efficiency projects, etc.

Provide support and guidance to the Americas Sustainable Operations team to:

- Review and evaluate the FEM and verified FEM annually according to plan.
- Perform gap/root-cause analysis on each factory’s environmental performance based on FEM and verified FEM results.
- Drive improved environmental performance at factory locations by proactively working with factory management and the S&R Environmental Sustainability team.
