The Accounting Assistant position is essential for the efficient and effective operation of the support department, reporting directly to the Head of Support for Panama and Colombia. We are seeking an individual who is highly organized, meticulous, and detail-oriented, with skills in accounting and administration.
- Accounting tasks management.
- Payroll registration, review, and labor benefits.
- Follow-up and filing of accounting and human resources documents.
- Preparation of purchase orders, registration, and payment of supplier invoices.
- Tracking and registration of customer collections and related activities.
- Registration, review, and reconciliation of credit card expenses.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Tracking of purchase order approvals.
- Monthly review and closing process.
- Support with the flow of information requested in external and internal audit processes.
- Receive, respond to, and implement approved changes resulting from audits conducted in the supervised area.
**Qualifications**
- Studying o recent university Degree in Accounting
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Intermediate level proficiency in accounting systems.
- Intermediate level proficiency in English is nice to have.
- Achievement orientation to meet activities within specified deadlines.
- Analytical ability to provide accurate data and information.
- Ability to plan and organize work to perform all relevant job functions with only general supervision and prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines.
- Capacity to collaborate within and outside of their work area.
- Adaptability and quick reaction capability.
- Curiosity for learning, staying informed, and asking relevant questions.
- Responsible and capable of taking autonomous action within their level of responsibility.
- 2 years of experience in similar positions.
**Additional Information** INTERNAL NETWORKING**
Building relationships with colleagues in other departments such as finance, engineering, human resources, operations, and sales can facilitate seamless coordination and communication for tasks such accounting and administration processes.
**EXTERNAL NETWORKING**
Establishing and nurturing relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers can facilitate smoother transactions, negotiation of terms, and resolution of issues related to purchases, invoices, and payments.
