About Companian
Companian provides virtual care coordination for seniors in the United States. Each patient gets a dedicated care advocate who handles the between-visit work: records transfers, appointments, medication reconciliation, insurance navigation, and connecting families to community resources. Patients are referred by their physician and the program is covered under Medicare.
The role
When a physician refers a patient to Companian, you're the first voice they hear. You'll call referred patients and their families, explain what the program is in plain language, answer their questions, and walk them through enrollment so they're ready to meet their care advocate.
Day to day:
- Call newly referred patients, introduce Companian, and confirm they want to enroll
- Explain the program simply and accurately — what a care advocate does, how it works with their doctor, what it costs them
- Capture consent and complete enrollment paperwork through our platform
- Collect intake details: contact info, insurance, caregivers and family contacts, preferred call times
- Schedule the patient's first call with their assigned advocate
- Follow up with patients who don't answer the first time (most won't)
- Document every call accurately and log your time What we're looking for
- Native or near-native English, spoken and written. Most patients are 70+, so clear, unhurried, warm speech matters more than polish
- Based in Panama, with reliable internet and a genuinely quiet space for calls
- Patience and real empathy — you'll repeat yourself, hold for a spouse to find their glasses, and talk to people who are confused or skeptical
- Experience in patient intake, healthcare admin, customer support, or senior-facing work is a plus
- Comfortable with detail and documentation; enrollment records must be right
- Available during US Eastern business hours (Panama runs on the same clock most of the year) Important This is a non-clinical role. You'll never give medical advice; you'll follow a clear escalation protocol when something clinical or urgent comes up. All calls go through a Companian number — your personal number is never exposed. HIPAA and consent training is provided before your first call.
