Position Summary:
Working as a Senior Member of Nestle ́s Global Energy Team
- the position Global Category Expert has an objective to further develop and optimize our existing Category Strategies, collaborating with the wider Procurement Team, Zone Stakeholders and our Suppliers, delivering a vital contribution towards attaining our 2030 Net Zero Emissions Corporate Objective (products include heat - steam
- carbon - natural gas
- electricity - liquid fuels). In addition, the position will be responsible for numerous other key performance indicators as part of the Integrated Global Energy Program, reporting directly to the Global Category Leader.
A day in the life of a Global Category Expert Energy:
- Define, implement, and deliver further optimization of Category Strategies that deliver incremental energy procurement benefits and carbon reduction solutions
- working closely with Energy Procurement colleagues, Zones, and
- Be responsible for promoting awareness of the CSR and Carbon Emission Management Plan and Energy policy: promote standard methodology in all activities and ensure compliance with current and emerging energy and environmental legislation.
- Work in close consultation with Procurement Partners, Project Managers, and Energy/Utilities Champions, ensuring that energy efficiency factors are understood from a Procurement perspective and incorporated into all development planning and operational activities.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of ESG goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for each assigned service area as directed by the Global Category Leader.
What will make you successful:
- Minimum of 10 years of Energy Industry including Global Procurement experience
- Bachelors, Masters, or PhD Degree in Economics or Engineering [Mechanical/Electrical/Energy] or related field
- Proved understanding of equipment such as boilers, condensing and backpressure steam turbines, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, cooling towers, piping and instrumentation, Biomass, Biogas, Hydrogen, etc.
- Understanding of electric power systems (transformers, alternators. Substations, etc.) and compressed air systems (generation and losses calculations)
- Industry Associations or affiliations: Exposure and active membership to Energy, Procurement or Sourcing associations
- Existing network within the industry and with suppliers
- Experience leading or contributing to a Research / study on the category
- Good understanding of regulatory and legislations of the category globally and industry trends and innovations.
- Experience in strategic sourcing for energy (electricity, natural gas and liquid fuels)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present data in large meetings to audiences with multifaceted technical knowledge.
- Availability to travel globally
- Experience on implementation of EMS platform would be an asset
- Fluency in English, proficiency in Spanish would be advantageous
