**Summary

**To lead the Interamerica Regional Support Centre of the World Scout Bureau (WSB) to: - Provide support to National Scout Organizations (NSOs) in the Interamerica Scout Region.

  • Support the Interamerica Regional Committee.
  • Support the implementation of WOSM's Strategy for Scouting in the Interamerica Scout
Region.

  • Contribute to fulfilling the mission of WOSM.
  • Represent WOSM in the Region and expand opportunities and partnerships.
**Responsibilities
Within the framework of WOSM's Strategy for Scouting and the World and Regional Triennial Plan:

Assist NSOs in the Interamerica Scout Region to:

  • Identify their needs, particularly in the fields of Youth Programme, adult resources,
management, institutional and organisational development, and communications and

partnerships.

  • Ensure the efficient delivery of support services to NSOs through an innovative handson
approach, increasing capacity at the grass-roots level.

  • Encourage, facilitate, and motivate qualitative and quantitative membership growth in
NSOs in the Interamerica Scout Region.

  • Ensure and organise the appropriate human, material, and financial resources within and
outside WOSM to provide effective support to respond to NSO's needs.

  • Ensure regular contacts and visits to NSOs and current and prospect partners in the
Interamerica Scout Region and establish a regular and efficient flow of information and

communication with and between NSOs in the region and worldwide.

  • Develop relevant Regionwide partnerships and resource mobilisation plans, enabling
WOSM to be an agent of positive social change and an influencer of youth policies at

national levels.

  • Support NSOs seeking their government's recognition of WOSM and of its aim and
objectives as a non-formal education organisation.

  • Ensure that NSOs in the Interamerica Scout Region are strongly committed to the
worldwide unity of the Scout Movement.

  • Develop a close and trusting relationship between the staff of the World Scout Bureau
  • Interamerica Regional Support Centre, the Chairperson of the Regional Committee, and all
Members of the Regional Committee.

  • Act as secretary to the Regional Committee.
  • Encourage and support the Interamerica Scout Region's effective participation in World
Scout Events.

  • Maintain good relationships with the host country of the Regional Support Centre
(Panama) and its NSO.

Information Pack for the Role of
Regional Director, Interamerica

In consultation with WOSM's Secretary General to:

  • Effectively manage the WSB
  • Interamerica Support Centre and contribute to the overall
management of the World Scout Bureau by playing a full and active role as a member of

the senior management team.

  • Establish objectives and action plans to be submitted to the Interamerica Regional
Committee for consultation and agreement.

  • Provide regular reporting, updates, and information on the work of the WSB
  • Interamerica Support Centre to the WSB management, the Interamerica Regional
Committee, NSOs in Interamerica, and other support centres.

  • Develop strong links, dialogue, and cooperation with the other WOSM Regions.
  • Prepare, plan, and organise WOSM constitutional events, such as Regional Committee
meetings, Regional Conferences, as well as other Regional events.

  • Ensure proper integration between the work of Interamerica Support Centre and the Global
Teams of the World Scout Bureau.

  • Attend meetings of the World Scout Bureau and World Scout Committee, as required.
  • Undertake any other tasks as requested by the Secretary General of WOSM.
For the management of the WSB Interamerica Support Centre:

  • Establish the Interamerica Support Centre work plan and manage its implementation.
  • Plan and prepare the annual budget together with key staff and ensure the followup of its
implementation through rigorous income and expenditure controls.

  • Lead staff participation in thematic teams to collaborate with colleagues around the One
WSB.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors funding activities in the Interamerica Scout
Region.

  • Ensure that the World Scout Bureau's approach to risk management is adhered to so that
risks are identified and managed effectively.

  • Lead "Future of Work" initiatives and implement staff wellbeing measures.
  • With agreement of the Secretary General, ensure the effective management of human
capital in the Interamerica Support Centre.

  • Define job descriptions of executive staff in cooperation with WSB's management.
  • Support each staff member to clearly identify their responsibilities, objectives, and perform
annual performance management.

  • Ensure compliance with WOSM's employees' handbook and other policies, procedures, and
best practices.
