BACKGROUND:
The U.S.
Department of State is the lead institution for the conduct of American diplomacy and the Secretary of State is the President's principal foreign policy advisor.
The Department of State's mission is to advance U.S. national security interests, fight terrorism, protect U.S. interests abroad, and implement foreign policy initiatives that build a freer, prosperous, and secure world.MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- U.S. Citizen, Third County National (TCN), or Local National (LN)
MRPT certification or RSO Clearance for foreign nationals- Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college or university in any field with preference given to degrees in criminal justice, social sciences, accounting, or communications
- FSI Level 3/3 English, FSI Level 3/3 Spanish
- Rank of associate/deputy warden (or equivalent or higher)
- Graduate of a U.S. federal or state corrections or probation officer academy certified by a POST commission or equivalent, and of at least 120 hours in length
- Two (2) years of managerial and supervisory experience as a Deputy Warden or Warden (or equivalent)
- One (1) year of experience working on international corrections issues preferred, working overseas preferred, experience working or coordinating with other relevant U.S. government agencies (e.g., Departments of Justice, Defense, DEA and/or USAID) preferred.
