Job Position: Data Engineer

Work Location: Panama, Remote

We are searching for Data Engineers that will work on collecting, processing, and analyzing sets of data.

Hybrid Work : Yes; Expected to have the availability to perform remote working and in-office working, when required.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Python required
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with SQL required
- Experience with bash or shell scripting required
- Knowledge of distributed systems principles required
- Familiarity with JVM-based languages such as Java or Scala
- Familiarity with big data processing frameworks, such as Spark, Storm, Samza, Flink, or Map Reduce
- Familiarity with Hadoop components such as HDFS, Hive, and YARN
- Familiarity with high-performance libraries such as TensorFlow
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and services
- 1+ years of data engineering experience required
- English level B2 or Higher

**What would be your responsibilities?**
- Collaborate and work closely with the team to build data platforms and pipelines
- Maintain and manage distributed data processing clusters in development and production environments
- Support distributed data processing administration tasks
- Create custom software components for use in data pipelines
- Employ a variety of languages and tools to connect and orchestrate pipelines
- Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
- Understand and implement data security standards
- Implement & automate high-performance algorithms, prototypes, and predictive models.

**Essential**:
Effective english/spanish verbal and written communication skills; be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences; be able to facilitate group discussions; paying attention to detail; being action-orientated, follow up on feedback.
