ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
In 2019, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) established the FSC Indigenous Foundation (FSC- IF) as the operational office of the Permanent Indigenous Peoples Committee (PIPC). The FSC-IF is a private interest foundation in accordance with Law No. 25 of June 12, 1995 of the Republic of Panama. The mission of FSC-IF is to enable an enabling environment to guarantee the rights of Indigenous Peoples and promote sustainable forest-based solutions within 300 million hectares of indigenous forests on the planet. The vision is that Indigenous Peoples' global values, rights, livelihoods, ecosystem services, natural capital and communities are incorporated into forest governance, climate change governance and market systems.

OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITIION
Under supervision of the FSC-IF Managing Director (MD) in collaboration with the FSC Canada President, the FSC Canada Indigenous Director will:

- Implement FSC Canada’s Indigenous Strategy;
- Demonstrate the value of FSC certification to Indigenous Peoples and increase the uptake of the National Forest Stewardship Standard (NFSS) in Canada.
- Collaborate with FSC PIPC (Permanent Indigenous Peoples Committee) and FSC-IF staff to strengthen system participation and knowledge sharing;
- Serve as Program Leader to support key First Nation (FN) certificate holders or other FN organizations interested in pursuing FSC certification in Western Canada.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

**A. Strategic and Management**:

- Develop a new FSC CA Indigenous Engagement National Program including a financing model to support the program.
- Provide strategic support to best integrate key projects into action and pursue opportunities related to Indigenous Peoples.
- Serve as the point of contact related to key projects with First Nations in coordination with FSC Canada’s Indigenous Chamber, FSC-IF, PIPC, FSC (Board of Directors, Regional Offices, Network Partners, and members), service providers, donors, and others.
- Assist with all operations, administration, reporting, and communication of key projects in an efficient and organized manner. This includes logístical arrangements for meetings, developing agendas, setting priorities, workflow management, distribution of minutes, and monitoring actions.
- Conduct research and analyses, summarize information, compile data, and prepare reports and presentations.
- Attend Board and committee meetings or other meetings as requested.
- Other duties as required.

**B. Project Administration**:

- Lead all phases of program management (work plan design, participatory planning, Indigenous consultation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, risk analysis and mitigation, and reporting).
- Oversee FSC Canada contractual staff needed to deliver on project activities.
- Ensure imple
