**Collaborates closely with**: Teachers, Learning Assistants, Assistant Principals, Head of Department, Instructional Coach, K-12 Coordinators and Specialists, and other colleagues as appropriate.

**RESPONSIBILITIES : (including but not limited to)**:
Responsible for assisting the homeroom teacher with implementation of daily instruction, including working with individuals and small groups, delivering instruction, and preparing and organizing instructional materials

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
The learning assistant supports an individual homeroom teacher (Pre-K-1st grade) or a team of teachers (2nd-5th grades) in organization and implementation of daily instruction. The duties and responsibilities of the learning assistant are defined in collaboration with the homeroom teacher/s as well as by taking independent initiative. Daily collaboration and communication with classroom teacher(s) Model and encourage the use of the English language to develop academic and social communication skills Model and encourage the use of Spanish language to develop academic and social communication skills during Spanish class. Active support of student engagement and participation in classroom instruction, activities, discussions, and Morning Meetings Active supervision and behavior management according to school expectations in the classroom, during transitions, recesses, and meal times Planning and implementing instructions for small groups and providing interventions as needed Preparation and organizations of instructional materials needed for daily instruction Assist with the organization of classroom materials, resources, and equipment Maintaining student records in collaboration with teacher(s) (classwork, homework, grading, etc.) Other tasks as assigned by the teacher(s) that are in accordance with school goals and objectives Attending faculty meetings and team meetings Leading classes when teachers are absent Attending faculty meetings and team meetings (according to grade level agreements) Participate in Open House and parent conferences meetings to support homeroom teachers with translation and learn more about the students. Ready to work by 7:15am in classrooms or at supervision duty Official end time is 3:45pm daily Other duties as assigned
