Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer is the key management leader of MVP and primary spokesperson for the organization.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising and marketing.

The position reports directly to the Board of Directors and includes the following duties:
1) Board Governance: Works with the Board of Directors in order to fulfill the organization mission.
- Responsible for leading MVP in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
- Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board of Directors and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board of Directors to function properly and to make informed decisions.
- Responsible for supporting the Board of Directors by participating in the Board and committee meetings, when applicable.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

2) Financial Performance and Viability: Leads the development of resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
- Responsible for implementing a fundraising strategy, as defined by the Board of Directors and with the support of staff, that will generate the revenues necessary to support MVP’s mission.
- Responsible for key donor relationships and solicitation.
- Responsible for the fiscal integrity of MVP, to include submission to the Board of Directors of a proposed annual budget and reports as required by the Board of Directors, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
- Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.

3) Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with the Board of Directors and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, partnerships, and stakeholder outreach.
- Responsible for implementation of MVP’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission in alignment with our core values.
- Responsible for integrally supporting the Board’s strategic planning to ensure that MVP can successfully fulfill its mission into the future.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with partner organizations and utilizing those relationships to strategically enhance MVP’s mission.
- Responsible for the enhancement of MVP’s image by pursuing and maintaining key partnerships, by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations, and by generally promoting the organization.

4) Organization Operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
- MVP is responsible for collaborative management of the Mamoní Valley Preserve with Geoversity and overseeing other key partnerships.
- Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff. Responsible for supervision of MVP staff which currently includes 2 full-time team members in administrative support and Development/Marketing.
- Effective administration of MVP day-to-day operations.
- Responsible for leading and overseeing the implementation of employment and administrative policies and procedures.
- Responsible for signing all contracts, notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.

**Requisitos**:
We are looking for results-focused, innovative leaders with well-developed communication skills with the following characteristics:

- Bachelor´s degree relevant to the position (Business Administration, Environmental Management, Science, Law, Project Management)
- Management of non-profit organizations, general management, conservation projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (word, excel, outlook, teams, etc.), Project Management tools (Asana), Google Workspace (gmail, drive, etc.)
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Availability to spend significant time in the field required.
- Must be able to understand a complex universe and be able to convey it to a diversity of audiences, both in English and Spanish.
- Must be able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

**Beneficios**:
Annual compensation for this position is set at a range of USD$ 48,000-66,000, determined by the selected applicant’s competencies and qualifications, and will be paid on a monthly basis.
