Apex Systems has partnered with a Biotech company, located in Philadelphia, PA, to fill a PMO Lead position in their Research department.

**PMO Lead Responsibilities**:
Facilitation and operational execution of Research Dashboard /KPIs
Operational level oversight, monitoring, confirmation, and communication of the Research studies, external collaborations, cross-functional deliverables, and budgets.
Consolidated tracking and visibility to study timelines and costs and supporting operational planning, proactive risk management and execution of studies according to time, cost and quality targets.
Coordinate with Therapeutic Areas/Discovery and Support functions (NCRO, Bioanalytical, Data Science) members to develop central tracking and management of Research deliverables and timings and communicate these to cross-functional stakeholders and management.
Facilitates and develops standards in overall resource, project planning, and prioritization in Research to align with corporate timelines and to manage critical path activities and risks.
Maintains Research level view of integrated project plan (IPP) with timelines, milestones, cross-functional impact, payment schedules and deliverables across Research. Aligning with TA/Functional responsible PMs.
Proactively engages with cross-functional stakeholders to identify cross-functional needs and operational initiatives across the organization and identifies ways to optimize integration with these efforts.
Actively engages with Therapeutic/Functional aligned PMs, TA/Functional heads and leads to build, maintain, and communicate high-level status updates to Research Leadership Team.
Collaborate with Research group to create increased operational efficiencies within the group, actively identify and prioritize areas of opportunity for improved efficiency, cross-Research communication, and information dissemination.
Work with the Research leads and PMs to provide oversight and guidance on budget preparation and expense tracking, ensuring consistency with portfolio plan, coordinate communication with functional partner
Establish standards and communication forums. Schedule and facilitate meetings, reports, and other methods of communicating critical project updates & timings; actively revise and iterate on these communications forums based on solicited feedback from stakeholders.

**Job Function and Description**:
Set standards and provide oversight to an integrated project plan (IPP) with timelines, milestones, cross-functional impact, payment schedules and deliverables across Research. Actively engages with Research leads and scientists to build, maintain, and communicate high-level status updates to Research Leadership Team.
Proactive engagement with cross-functional stakeholders in the Program Management Office, Finance, Accounts Payable, Nonclinical Research Operations, and others to identify and optimize integration with varied operational initiatives across the organization.
Partners across Research team to identify workload distribution, prioritization needs and areas for improving operational efficiency, communication, and dissemination of information. Lead the effort of resource tracking, forecasting and optimization.
Evaluate new technologies and methodologies in the area of workflow management and engagement; pilot new platforms/ways of working and evaluate against existing methods; provide data-driven recommendations to Research Leadership Team on adoption or discontinuation of practices.

Education and Experience Requirements

Typically requires a BA or BS degree and generally has 8-10 years of relevant experience, including 3-5 years of experience in a research & development setting in a biotechnology company.
Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and manage the process of aligning cross-functional stakeholders and resources to achieve outcomes, often across multiple competing priorities
Experience with project management practices such as project scoping, timeline and budget management, cross-functional coordination and problem resolution.
Familiarity with project/workflow management solutions (Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, Asana, etc) required.
Ability to ensure tactical execution of solutions to operational issues in a fast-paced environment.
