Job Description What's The Role?The Communications Specialist is an important role within the Communications function of Liberty Latin America (LLA) and reports to the Director, Communications. This role will be responsible for supporting LLA’s internal communications, providing functional communications support, liaising with the broader communications team across our markets, and leveraging various channels to inform and drive employee engagement aligned to LLA’s overall business objectives. The Specialist will develop plans and execute compelling company-wide campaigns to drive greater employee engagement through excellent written communications, collateral materials, and creative executions. The Specialist will work closely with the Director, Communications in developing content to ensure internal audiences are appropriately apprised of business happenings - reinforcing our company culture and building our profile as an employer of choice.
What You'll DoCommunicationsSupports Communications by informing, engaging and energizing employees through compelling storytellingDraft communications that meet specific objectives with clarity, appropriate tone, accuracy, and balanceContributes to Communications initiatives including managing content, timelines, and the distribution of communications through various channelsFind new and innovative ways to bring stories to life, through audio, video, and interactive storytellingProvide bilingual writing capabilities, including translation from English to Spanish and vice versaCreate exciting content that reflects the company’s strategic prioritiesProactively identify important initiatives and events across the company and work to ensure appropriate coverage is incorporated into our communications channelsIdentify opportunities to repurpose content and extend life and relevance of existing materialWork with the Communications team to produce and deliver communications deliverablesRespond to queries from internal stakeholders and identify the appropriate course of actionSupport the planning and management of internal events including coordinating with vendorsBuild cross-functional relationships to remain aware of important news, developments, and initiativesManage the communications calendar, working closely with full Communications function to populateCulture AmbassadorAct as an ambassador for the company’s culture and infuse it into communications materials Budget SupportCoordinate with vendors to assist in maintaining financial records, tracking purchases, invoices, and payments, while keeping organized records of our projects Knowledge & Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in news media, corporate communications, journalism, or publishingExperience with internal / employee communications, preferredExperience with researching and writing compelling, comprehensive communications materialsExcellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skillsExcellent writing and storytelling skills with a focus on creativity and qualityStrong organizational skills with the ability to juggle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a can-do, positive attitude Demonstrate calm under pressure while handling multiple deadlines and requests from various stakeholdersProfessional style that can work with a broad range of internal stakeholders Strong attention to detail and ability to remain focused in a matrixed environmentIdeas-oriented and adaptable, capable of managing feedback while maintaining high standardsProven skills in project management Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment to ensure work gets done efficientlyAbility to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacyBilingual English/SpanishPreferred education/ qualifications: Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.Who We AreWe are the leading telecommunications company, connecting more than 40 markets in Latin America and the Caribbean with our video, broadband internet, telephony, and mobile services under the consumer brands VTR, Flow, Liberty, M
