**Role Description**

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Panama. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background, proven experience in professional services, and fluency in English. This role will report to a senior accountant and controller in all core accounting functions, to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Day-to-day work in accounts receivable and expense management processes.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate posting of transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Help with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Management Reporting.
- Perform and review account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies proactively.
- Assist with cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Prepare schedules and provide support during audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.
- Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to the growth of the finance function.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Previous experience in professional services environments (e.g., consulting, advisory, or accounting firms).
- Full professional fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and other accounting tools.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

Knowledge of U.S. GAAP or IFRS.

Experience in multinational or remote work environments.

Strong problem-solving skills and proactive attitude.
