Intake Specialist

The Intake Coordinator is in-charge of the admissions process; responsible for providing support for admission requests to help patients get the best dialysis care. The Intake Coordinator works with hospitals, nursing homes, medical directors, nephrologists, nurses, and hospital liaisons to develop good relationships, understand clients’ needs, and ensure that everyone involved in patient care is prepared.
Essential Functions Pre-admit patients by entering patient information to EMR database. Verify insurance information Review clinical data and approves patients for treatment Notify facilities of patient approval Serve and protect the company by adhering to professional standards, IDPH and JACHO policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements. Accomplish admissions by completing related results as needed. Understand patient needs and can find solutions for a myriad of issues
Find solutions for issues concerning admissions, such as units unable to search for patients in the EMR database, missing labs or doctor’s notes, etc.
Review patient charts with detail so as not to miss any details that will delay the approval process
Possess great listening, as well as, excellent verbal and written skills.
Communicate and serve as liaison between nursing home staff, nurses, insurance companies, doctors, or other medical staff.
Must have knowledge in insurance policies
Must have good typing skills

**Requisitos**:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Dialysis or healthcare experience preferred.
