Field Operationtechnician

**FIELD OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN**:
Is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications equipment in a central office facility. This includes voice, data, and video transmission systems, as well as power and environmental systems that support network operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Install, configure, and maintain central office equipment such as switches, routers, multiplexers, and digital cross-connect systems.
- Perform routine testing and diagnostics on transmission lines and equipment.
- Monitor network performance and respond to alarms or outages.
- Maintain and repair power systems including batteries, rectifiers, and generators.
- Document all installations, maintenance, and repairs according to company standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate with field technicians, engineers, and vendors for system upgrades or repairs.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and equipment.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electronics or telecommunications preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a central office or similar technical role.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including WDM, T1, DS3, SONET, and fiber optics.
- Familiarity with test equipment such as OTDRs, spectrum analyzers, and multimeters.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to work on-call shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed.

**Preferred Certifications**:

- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Certified Technician (CCT)
- BICSI Technician Certification
- OSHA 10/30

Pay: B/.15,000.00 - B/.20,000.00 per year
