How can you make a difference?


Under the overall direction of the Regional Communication Specialist of UNICEF LAC-RO and in the framework of the UNICEF Regional Office Communication Working Plan 2023, we are seeking a Web and Digital Support Consultant with the skills to create engaging and creative content for the UNICEF regional website, support the implementation of Google Grants to improve performance, analyze web analytics and identify the most frequently visited articles or pages, and support to Country Offices in their web request.


The Web and Digital Support Consultant works within the UNICEF Communication section in the Regional Office and will have the opportunity to contribute to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of all the regional digital and social media platforms.


Scope of work:

  • 1. Support in the implementation of Communication Strategy and Advocacy
  • Contribute to the development of a monthly editorial calendar with engaging content (articles, blogs, stories) for RO website and social media platforms managed by RO.
  • Adapt and translate new content and articles produced by NYHQ, to be shared with Country Offices in the region in English and Spanish.
  • Digital Communication Strategy
  • Provide general assistance to the Communication Section in the Regional Office with a particular focus on: Developing social media packs combining key messages, graphic design, and new techniques to generate engaging content.

Implementation on Digital Strategies:

  • Understand and identify new opportunities to continually improve our presence across digital platforms to deepen engagement with supporters.
  • Support in providing analytics reports and provide recommendations on tactics to improve UNICEF's digital presence.

Coordinate digital actions:

  • Provide support to the Communication Specialist in the development of digital communication to coordinate synergy with traditional communication, advocacy and with UNICEF partners.
  • Promote integration within internal teams to make sure all channels are aligned to a common objective.

Reports:

  • Create and maintain a calendar of publications and development of monthly content.
  • Delivery of monthly digital report to present results, objectives, and new challenges.

Deliverables:

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have

  • Fluency in Spanish and excellent command of English is compulsory.
  • Proven experience in developing engaging content.
  • Proven experience in communications skills and multimedia (writing, editing, event organization, video production, photography).
  • Proven experience in using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Experience in working with UNICEF and UN agencies.
  • Proven experience using Drupal.
  • Experience creating engaging Reels and TikTok.

Administrative details

Supervision:
The consultant will work under the overall supervision and guidance of the UNICEF LACRO Communication Specialist.

Workplace:
The consultancy is home-based.

Duration: 11.5 months. Estimated started date last week of August 2023.
