**#LI-VI1**: As part of Millicoms drive for continuous improvement, through the execution of our Digital Lifestyle strategy (optimizing its business), this role will be responsible for managing all tax aspects with respect to Mergers and Acquisitions and Tax Audits across the Group This is achieved through the following main objectives: Managing Tax Audits and tax risks across the GroupManaging tax aspects of Merger and Acquisitions You add value to the business while working with different stakeholders to ensure high quality execution. You take responsibility for the end to end processes, ensuring overall objectives are achieved even if not 100% managed by you. Qualifications / Requirements A Juris Doctorate degree is required; a Tax LLM or CPA is a plusFluency in Spanish and in English;Excel skillsStrong attention to detailsGood knowledge of the tax law of at least two of the Millicom countries and International tax knowledge are a must Responsibilities Manage tax audits and tax controversy matters across the Group, including: Supporting the Operations in developing and implementing tax controversy strategies to effectively defend tax positions taken and minimize controversy related adjustmentsEncouraging effective working relationships with the tax authoritiesProviding mentorship on tax risk profile, materiality, and risk-based approach across the Tax departmentManaging the information document request process including review of requests/responses, manage and develop response strategyPartnering with collaborators to support tax positions subject to audit, including Legal, HR, Finance, and other groupsPerforming research and analysis to understand facts and tax technical implications of controversy issuesEngaging with external advisors as appropriate to ensure accurate representation and advice on matters under inquiry Review all tax aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other development matters, including: Reviewing transaction documents especially tax indemnity clauses;Performing tax due diligence;Engaging with a wide range of partners within and outside the Tax department including outside counsel and/or external advisors (Big Four, investment bankers, etc.) as appropriate to ensure accurate representation of tax matters Keep up to date with tax legislation, regulations, and practice in any of the Group countries Background 7 + years of relevant experience with a major, publicly-held corporation, a major law firm or a big 4 public accounting firm; depending on the type of experience, candidates with 5 + years of experience with a major law firm will also be consideredExperience in tax audit management in LATAM is a must
