Duties and Responsibilities BackgoundDIPECHOLAC.NET is a space promoted by the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) dedicated to promoting the exchange of experiences and the dissemination of information related to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in countries and communities of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) with a special focus on Disaster Preparedness.Duties and Responsibilities The consultant willreport to theInformation and Communication Assistantofthe United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction(UNDRR) for the Americas and the Caribbean, being its main objective to review, identify, prioritize, and arrange existing content of the website DIPECHOLAC.NET (The European Commission Humanitarian Aid departments Disaster Preparedness Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean) as well as design and implement the strategy to migrate relevant contents to PreventionWeb or UNDRR website. Duties include: - Perform a content inventory of the DIPECHOLAC.

NET digital content including aspects such as each pieces' name, format, URL, server location, creation date, author, backlinks, and metadata. Some parts of the inventory can be automated but most of the content will be dealt with manually. - Based on the review of statistics and other sources of content information, define, and prioritize the content for its future migration to either Prevention Web, UNDRRs website or to the digital archive. - Develop or enhance the existing content strategy for the new website, to cover the functional needs required by UNDRR.
- Prepare a website architecture as the is the hierarchical structure of your website pages, considering the priorization and organization of data. - Prepare a content migration strategy divide by three phases: i) initial structural migration to PW (Prevention Web), which includes the content that attracts up to 70% of the existing views, ii) secondary migration to PW of the resting up to 30%, iii) migration to UNDRR website and digital archive of the resting data. - Implement the migration strategy until its finalization with possible content development and creation of new features. - Technical advice and support to the regional office for other web development projects.
- Preserve existing SEO through a strategy or redirects and content preservation. Qualifications/special skills Skills: - Ability to work productively under pressure, cope with deadlines, and the technical ability to work with online forms and systems is required. - Strong familiarity of content management systems, web technologies, and migration of complex web sites is required. - Excellent writing skills is required.

Good interpersonal skills is required and ability to work with minimum supervision as well as in a team is required. Familiarity with disaster risk reduction and disaster preparedness is desirable.Academic Qualifications: First-level university degree in computing science, industrial engineering, or similar field is required.Experience: - At least 3 years of experience in web content management, public information, digital communications, social media, or other relevant field is required. - Experience using content management systems (CMS) such as Drupal, web analytics, basic HTML editing is required. - Experience in web redesign/web migration projects on regional websites is required. Experience as part of a project management team for a website migration is desirable.

Experience with structured data, such as JSON, XML, RSS is an asset. Experience using website scrapping tools is an asset.Language: Fluency in Spanish is required. Working knowledge in English and another UN language is an advantage.
