Background The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the global development network for the United Nations system. It is present in 166 countries and territories and is uniquely equipped to help developing countries build sustainable capacity to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In support of this, UNDP offers a wide range of solutions to global, regional, and national development challenges through a comprehensive knowledge network, expert practitioners, and focused strategic areas of support.UNDP Regional Hub primarily provides UNDP Country Offices in the Latin American region with easy access to knowledge through high-quality advisory services and technical support based on global applied research and UNDP lessons learnt. The second priority is to provide regional thought leadership, build partnerships and promote regional capacity building, which allows UNDP, governments, and other development partners to identify, create and share knowledge relevant to solving urgent development challenges.GENDER COMMUNICATIONS Understanding how to communicate in gender-responsive ways is a crucial step to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Gender equality and women's empowerment are integrated into every aspect of UNDP's work in supporting countries through a range of programmes and projects. In recent years, UNDP's key contribution to advancing gender equality in the region has been demonstrated in the following areas: - Promoting gender-based environment and climate change solutions
- Supporting women's economic empowerment
- Integration of gender mainstreaming in development planning
- Addressing gender-based violence
- Increasing women's political participationSTRENGTHEN WOMEN'S POLITICAL PARTICIPATIONThe ATENEA initiative is a mechanism to accelerate parity in the political participation of women in Latin America and the Caribbean. This platform seeks to contribute to the effective exercise of the political rights of women based on conditions of equality and non-discrimination, as well as to contribute to the achievement and consolidation of parity democracy. This initiative is jointly lead by the UNDP, UN Women and International IDEA.

Within this framework, the Political Parity Index (PPI) is implemented, which measures, with a comprehensive approach, the progress in women's political rights towards parity, based on eight dimensions and forty indicators. It generates comparable data and information, analytical assessments and specific recommendations that unveil possible roadmaps towards the achievement of parity and constitute key tools for institutions, decision-makers and organizations. Duties and Responsibilities Tasks / Expected OutcomesUnder the direct supervision of the Gender Team Leader the intern will support the delivery of activities and undertake advocacy and coordination of the following main areas: Social Media: - Development of monthly reports with analytics for social media channels. Monitoring key initiatives during the month. Supporting the development of SM packages for events and/or launches during the month. Support the gender team on communicating with Country Offices in the region for project development. - Supporting the gender team with live tweeting during events (using pre-approved messages and pre-approved photos).Supporting Communication: - Support activities such as online workshops and webinars to provide pragmatic guidance and capacity building opportunities and tools to design and implement gender-responsive policies and initiatives.

Ability to work in a team, creating a positive environment. - Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities. - Attention to details. Supervision As part of the UNDP Intern will benefit from the following supervision modalities: Structured guidance provided by the supervisor, especially at the beginning of the assignment.Establishment of a work plan, with clear key results.Effective supervision through knowledge sharing and performance/
