Regional Awards Officer
ROLE PURPOSE
The Regional Award Officer (RAO) will support the Regional Awards Manager in leading Grants and Awards management support across the LAC region. The post-holder will play a key role in ensuring Awards Management processes are effective and efficient. The post-holder is the LAC SCI point person for the Awards Management System (AMS) in LAC region. The post-holder will support the Regional Awards Manager in managing the review of all relevant awards/proposals at regional level.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the post
- holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

**KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY**:
Awards compliance (systems, processes, donor), including regional awards and directly received funding awards.
- Support Regional Resource Mobilisation by ensuring timely AMS set up, review and approvals at key pre-award stage gates (Opportunity and Proposal approvals).
- Participate in regional award Kick off meetings to ensure that all award information is shared effectively with relevant staff, including partners.
- Ensure that all appropriate donor formats are available, and staff have a clear understanding of donor requirements/expectations throughout the award cycle.
- Support country offices in their preparation and review donor waiver/derogation requests to receive funds directly.
- Support Implementing Offices in their activation of PALs (when necessary).
- Ensure all partners and sub-award agreements undergo legal vetting, are input into, and approved through AMS, and work with relevant staff to ensure relevant donor requirements are understood by implementing partners (including capacity building).
- Provide second line support to implementing offices on the donor requirements and what this means through the awards cycle incl. at kick off, amendments, reporting, and close out, and any issue escalation (Awards in country as first line).
- Prepare partnership agreements, amendments, and close out approvals from the Regional Office perspective, to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Be a Regional Award Management System (AMS) Champion, engaging in the global AMS Champions network and supporting the RO and CO on AMS issues where required.

Awards monitoring and analysis
- Prepare portfolio level monitoring and analysis and follow up issues identified to their adequate resolution.
- Produce management reports and escalate identified portfolio issues in a timely manner.
- Lead awards close out process and work with members to ensure awards are closed out on time.
- Actively monitor income claim follow up with donors in AMS schedules for the Directly Received portfolio and work with Finance and Operations to ensure any impact on working capital and cash position is well managed, with clear actions agreed with Implementing Office teams.
- Ensure all AMS records are an accurate reflection of current award status at all times, and have all required documentation attached, including sub-agreements and partners.
- Support budget holders in the effective award management for humanitarian responses, including of humanitarian and pooled funds when required.

Awards Capacity Building to CO´s and Regional Staff
- Support the delivery of capacity building both within the AM team in LAC and across the Country Office (CO), including directly received donor funding.
- Carry out trainings for award management procedures and system, SCI/donor requirements for Save the Children staff and partner organisations to ensure award management is of high quality, including directly received.
- Identify and share best practices among CO´s
- Actively participate in the Award´s community of practice REQUERIMIENTOS

**To be successful, you will bring/have**:
Essential
- Minimum Bachelor´s degree relating to business, finance, accounting or international development.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience managing donor funded projects with International NGO's particularly those addressing human/children's rights.
- Experience managing small, medium and large grants, contracts & sub agreements with knowledge of major funders' guidelines (e.g. U.S. government funds, ECHO, SIDA, UNHCR, WFP), corporate donors and foundations.
- Experience and knowledge of major donors’ compliance requirements.
- Good attention to detail and analytical skills, problem solving skills to identify and lead the resolution of issues.
- Computer literate (i.e. Word, advanced Excel, Outlook, financial systems) and excellent documentation skills are a must.
- Ability to work well with a team and establish relationships with other teams/offices.
