**The Opportunity This position can be based in**: Per, Colombia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, or Nicaragua Regional Senior Social Protection Advisor ROLE PURPOSE The role will lead the strategy development, the technical design and implementation of high-quality regional strategy and supporting programmes and advocacy strategies at the country level that deliver change for children in non-humanitarian settings and in humanitarian contexts as well where there is scope to establish or strengthen social protection. The Senior will ensure that all social protection programming is of excellent technical quality, informed by global and internal best practices, and contributes significantly to Save the Childrens strategic objectives, national/global learning, and advocacy. To be successful, you will bring/have: Masters degree in Economics, Social Protection, Social Policy, or equivalent experience. At least 5 years experience in social protection policy, research, and programming, including design, advocacy, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, designing pathways to sustainable impact at scale.

Experience of strategy development and planning, promoting quality and impact through at least one cross-cutting area: gender equality and inclusion, adaptive and safer programming; child rights; disability; migration and displacement. Experience of supporting humanitarian preparedness, response, and recovery. Understanding of the social protection sector in LAC, Experience of context, capacity, and policy analysis, and influencing and advocacy at national level to hold duty bearers to account to childrens right to social protection. Demonstrated understanding and experience of using and analysing life cycle and rights-based approach to social protection and how it contributes to outcomes for children.

Experience with complementary/cash plus approaches to social protection to improve impact on children. Ideally experience with shock-responsive/adaptive social protection, and/or graduation programming would be an advantage. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with high level government officials including diplomatic/negotiation skills to advocate for policy change. Track record in successful business development/fundraising for research or programming CO to highlight any key donors where experience is required Demonstrated experience in successful programme design, monitoring, and evaluation skills, including designing pathways to sustainable impact at scale.

Able to generate and use data and evidence to innovate, deliver, learn, and share what works and what doesnt work for children, significant experience in training, capacity building, and mentoring Proficiency in written and spoken (Spanish and English) is essential; skills in other regionally relevant languages would be an advantage (French) We offer a competitive package in the context of the sector.
