Legal Counsel

Reports To

Direct Line: Managing Counsel

Core Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts in English and Spanish for various transactional matters, including, consulting agreements, licensing agreements, mobile roaming agreements, technology agreements, procurement agreements, confidentiality agreements, and various other contracts providing support to day-to-day operations of Millicom and its affiliates in Latin America.
- Primary legal support for roaming business unit.
- Researching and analyzing legal issues.

Qualifications
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- International LLM From U.S. law school preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal department; with strong corporate generalist and commercial skills and experience handling international transactions and commercial contracts in English and Spanish.
- Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish, written and spoken, (including drafting legal documents).

Experience
- Technology, telecom and/or media experience a plus.
- Superior contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Superior contract drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to understand business objectives of an agreement, identify related issues and facilitate risk/benefits analysis
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
- Excellent organizational, time management and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently and take leadership on projects.
