**Duties**:
The Deputy Director of Programming and Training performs the following major duties:

- Under the Director of Programming and Training's (DPT) leadership, facilitate communication and planning among programming and training staff to align Trainee and Volunteer training with project's plans and conduct analysis to ensure effective collaboration, communication, role delineation, and administrative systems management.
- As delegated by the DPT, support programming team in project design, implementation, evaluation and assessments.
- Conduct professional development activities and trainings for extending Volunteers and Leaders.
- As required and in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, conduct visits at Volunteer sites to address safety, integration, community relationships, housing or other support needs, such as Volunteer morale, problems, and work and living conditions.
- Develop and implement the monitoring, reporting and evaluation (MRE) systems.
- Coordinates the production and distribution of annual reports.
- Ensure Volunteers are appropriately trained and informed to follow processes and implement relevant activities at their sites.
- Collaborate with senior staff to create or update welcome books, handbooks, policies and procedures, and other posts documentation and forms dealing with the recruitment, training, expectation setting, management, and in service support of Volunteers.
- Provide clear guidance to Volunteers regarding Peace Corps policies and enforce those policies in a fair and consistent manner.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- All Federal employees are required to have federal salary payments made by direct deposit to a financial institution of their choosing.
- You must complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. These documents must be unexpired originalor certified copies**.**:

- You must successfully complete a background security investigation with favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet this requirement will be grounds for employment termination.
- Prior to employment, and in compliance with statutes 5 USC 3322 and 22 USC 2507b, Peace Corps will conduct a check of Peace Corps records for both Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and former Peace Corps employees.
- All new employees are required to certify and submit a statement of understanding acknowledging adherence to the Peace Corps condition of employment prior to day 1 of employment with the Peace Corps.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Medical Clearance.
- This is not a bargaining unit position.
- An 18-month trial period is required.
- A one-year supervisory probationary period is required.
- Travel within and outside the country of assignment is required.
- The initial appointment to this position cannot exceed five years.

**Specialized Experience**:
You must meet the specialized experience at the grade level(s) in which you choose to be considered by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on 04/14/2024 (the closing date of the announcement). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To ensure full credit for your experience, please indicate dates of employment by month, day, and year and the number of hours worked per week in your resume.

This vacancy is being announced at two (2) Grade Levels:
**FP-03 (No educational substitution)**

Qualifying experience for the FP-3 (GS-13) grade level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the FP-4 or GS-12 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. **Specialized experience includes**: Experience leading the design and implementation of an organization's program and training policies and procedures in adherence with agency goals, regulations, and directives; Experience formulating and implementing new training techniques and best practices to enhance existing training programs to meet emerging program requirements; Experience developing performance management tools, and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems to track projects, program goals and milestones;
