General Area of ResponsibilityThe position of Regional Commercial Manager is primary responsible for establishing, supporting and managing customer relationships throughout the Americas region; financial analysis, gathering market intelligence and laying groundwork for developing new customers and markets. The Regional Commercial Manager will contribute to the goals of the commercial function, providing in-depth analytical insight, leading the preparation of financial models and business cases for new opportunities, preparing sales material, structuring agreements and other ad-hoc support to business development and commercial activity.Specific Area of Responsibility: Your main tasks will be: Creating and developing commercial opportunities through managing relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and other stakeholders.Identify new market opportunities using data driven analysis, taking the lead on securing new contracts or extension of existing agreements for the Americas organization.Take a lead role driving customer centricity in Svitzer Americas.Manage commercial projects delivering strategic customer plans for customers leveraging Svitzers unique global position.Drive and ensure alignment between internal stakeholders in countries, regions and headquarters.Writing of business cases memos that will generate internal stakeholder engagement with the end goal of attaining executive approval for project investments.Lead and support the development of business cases and financial models for use in all commerical effortsLead and contribute to the preparation of business proposals, tenders and quotes.Required/Preferred Education Master's level education preferred (Business and other related courses).Training and competencies5 years of experience in a commercial or financial role in the maritime industry.A proven track record of success in meeting and exceeding commercial targets (preferably exemplified in list of clients landed and their gross profit).High level of skill and experience with financial modelling, risk analysis, and multiple valuation methodologies.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.Fluency in both written and spoken English, and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus. Worked in a commercial environment including stakeholder management, clarifying business need and process mapping.Familiar with modern marketing, sales, process and business development techniques.Experience working closely with senior management.Approaches tasks with a high level of energy and is open to challenges.Good leadership and excellent interpersonal skills, team player and self starter with a highly-motivated attitude to grow the business through long term relationships.Thrives in a busy work environment and is motivated by the international scope of our business.Excellent business communication skills for both external and internal audiences.Ability to work in a global business environment with a strong sense of cultural diversity.Flexibility to travel 40%.Developing new business or expanding existing business.Preferably has a history of working within the workboat industry (towage/offshore) coupled with experience in finance or economincs in different countries and continents.Building a Diverse WorkplaceIn Svitzer we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job we value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability, or religious beliefs.
