Who you are:
You have worked in an accounting department, and you are used to providing quality and accurate information, you know the entire accounting cycle and the reports that must be made at the end of each month and also you are up to date with local tax and fiscal regulations (Panama)


You are a team player but also you are a leader who encourages others with your positive energy, seek solutions to day-to-day problems and you are a good communicator.


What you will work on:

  • Monitor and control of vessels / corporate bank accounts. Control follow up and solve issues related to bank accounts assigned with bank officers.
  • Responsible for control of payroll bank accounts and register of all payroll and seniority funds in the company systems
  • Prepare requested transfers to customers.
  • Prepare monthly banks reconciliations.
  • Monitor/Handling of Petty Cash
  • Oversee account receivable process including disbursement of accounts and Work in Progress, assisting with information required by Credit
  • Responsible for accurate, correct, and timely presentation of tax reports to government and ensure reporting is according with fiscal regulations and other reports requested by government institutions. (Purchase, Revenue, ITBMS, Annex 03, Other expenses, Annex of yearend tax return)
  • Supervise account payable process and ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Keep effective control and inventory of company fixed assets.
  • Keep effective control and administration of nonactive financial documents.
  • Assist in the monthly financial closing and reporting process, reconciliation of ledger accounts and the financial yearend closing process.
  • Assist with annual audits and projects from Finance and Accounting Department

Desired qualifications and background:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Knowledge in Fiscal and Labour regulations (Panama)
  • Relevant experience in similar positions (2/3 years)
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Strong interest in working with process, improvements and efficiency
  • Open mindset, willing to learn, to change and growth
  • Strong interest in working with financial and reporting systems.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams with good communication skills
  • Customer service focused and ability to develop good relationships.
  • Able to meet deadlines through good time management and allocation of priorities.
