Main Purpose:


The
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the organization's health, safety, security and environmental programs.

They work closely with commercial/ operative/maintenance teams and employees to ensure compliance with regulations, promote a safe working environment, and implement effective safety measures.

  • Availability to travel within the country and abroad (according to assigned countries in Central America).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address securityrelated concerns and provide guidance (following Puma security guidelines).
  • Conduct safety/environmental/security training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Continuously assess and improve security measures based on risk assessments and industry standards.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety/environmental/security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of the organization's employees, assets, and information.
  • Investigate
    HSE & Security incidents and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Manage and oversee security systems, equipment, and technology.
  • Monitor and comply with legal/environmental requirements applicable to Puma, including hazardous/nonhazardous solid waste disposal, water and electricity consumption.
  • Oversee the execution of environmental monitoring contracts (as per local regulations) and monitor results to create an action plan. Maintain a record of all laboratory results.
  • Stay updated with the latest safety/health/security trends, regulations, and best practices.

Daily Activities:

HSE

  • Conduct regular inspections and walkthroughs to identify health/safety/environmental potential hazards and ensure adherence to local and Puma safety regulations.
  • Report and document safety observations, nearmiss incidents, and other safetyrelated data.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to employees regarding safety procedures, policies, and practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and nearmiss events, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions, if applies (report to local authorities any event required).
  • Monitor and report on key safety metrics, such as incident rates, nearmiss reports, and safety observations, safety training.
  • Collaborate with department heads (Transportation/Retail/B2B/Admin/Construction) to develop and implement safety initiatives, programs, and training.
  • Review and update safety procedures, guidelines, and standard operating practices.
  • Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to address specific safety concerns and communicate important safety information.
  • Collaborate with procurement, commercial and operations teams to assess and select safety equipment and personal protective gear.
  • Maintain safety records and documentation, including incident reports, training records, and safety policies.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, safety regulations, and emerging trends in health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Establishing safety committees or teams that involve employees from various departments. These committees can regularly assess safety protocols, identify areas for improvement, and communicate safety concerns to management.

SECURITY

  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, such as unauthorized access or suspicious activities.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal departments, such as IT, HR, and others, to address securityrelated issues.
  • Conduct employee awareness training programs on security protocols and best practices.
  • Review security logs, incident reports, and other relevant documentation to identify potential vulnerabilities or breaches.
  • Maintain and update the organization's emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest security trends, technologies, and regulations to recommend improvements.

Monthly Activities:

HSE

  • Review and analyze incident reports, identifying trends and recommending improvements to prevent similar incidents.
  • Conduct safety/environmental audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of safety training programs for employees.
  • Collaborate with department heads (Retail/B2B/Admin/Construction) to review and update job hazard analyses (JHAs) and permit to work procedures.
  • Participate in local safety committee meetings, contributing to discussions on safetyrelated topics.
  • Ensure compliance with local Safety & Occupational regulations
  • Responsible of conducting a Safety & Occupational Committee meeting in a monthly basis
