**Who We Are**

One of the most popular accommodations in the Boquete Area, Bambuda Castle is a
Boutique Hostel, next to the green hills of Baru Volcano, we are surrounded by endless coffee plantations, hiking trails, waterfalls and an endless variety of activities to keep you busy.
The Castle itself caters to all types of travelers, we have a full on-site restaurant and bar, as well as a common kitchen. We have a large indoor swimming pool and a jacuzzi, as well as a rock-climbing wall on one of the Castle turrets.

We make sure everyone is comfortable with super-fast internet, electrical outlets and reading lights for every bed, hot water showers and lots of other facilities to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible.

**What the role is**

The General Manager is in charge of all operational and performance aspects surrounding the entire business including rooms revenue, F&B revenue, secondary revenue departments such as travel & tours, & retail, departmental profit margins, overall location profit margin, and overall guest satisfaction. This involves day to day operations such as managing employees, service protocols, mid-term operations such as monthly P&L review, cost control management and revenue achievement and long term, big picture planning such as concept, product offerings, marketing, and new initiatives. They will oversee departmental managers as well as employees directly to ensure the success of the location. The role is ultimately responsible for the achievement of revenue targets, margin targets, and overall guest satisfaction. This manifests in many tasks, some of which are outlined below. The right applicant will have proven success in managing a dynamic hotel or resort with multiple revenue generating departments in a similar environment. They will be passionate about customer service, excited about the idea of creating unforgettable hospitality experiences in a tropical

location, and be willing to wear many hats, treating the business as their own to ensure its success.

**You Must Have**
- Fully bilingual abilities (English & Spanish)
- Excellent understanding of budgeting, expense controls and all aspects of p/l statements.
- Strong organization and time management skills (to manage schedules, budgets, etc
- Demonstrable experience of delivering excellent customer service
- Attention to detail in everything from presentation, to service, to numbers
- Minimum three-years experience in hospitality management
- Ability to delegate effectively
- Excellent communication & supervisory skills
- Strong understanding of forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, invoice & petty cash management, productivity, inventory controls, P&L analysis, food and beverage cost controls
- Strong computer and technical skills to include PMS, POS, on-line purchasing systems, and inventory management systems preferred
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed during busy times, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge and experience preferred
- Ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to handle progressive discipline/coaching discussions.

**What you will be doing**

**BRAND, EXPERIENCE & MARKETING**
- Maintain brand image, ensuring that our experience is properly conveyed to all who encounter our brand.
- Hone the guest experience from initial reservation, through post-journey follow up, ensuring that consistent messaging, voice, and service is achieved at all touch points.
- Plan & curate the on-board product & experience including multiple regular event types as well as special events and private tour offerings.
- Develop and execute a marketing and sales plan to promote the business’s public and private product offerings.

**SERVICE & PRODUCT**
- Ensure that our room and food & beverage products are properly aligned with our clientele to ensure satisfaction and attract new customers.
- Develop appropriate activities, events and parties to appeal to our client demographics. Understand our own internal data to plan and schedule accordingly in order to maximize revenue.
- Ensure excellent service throughout the guest journey from initial contact for booking, through post-stay feedback.
- Ensure service to all guests follows established standards, is consistent, efficient and courteous
