**Position Summary**:
The Youth Leadership & Sport Coordinator will provide direct administrative and management support for the execution of the Special Olympics Global Youth Leadership initiative and Sport throughout the SOLA Region in line with the Regional strategic plan. This position will work with colleagues from SOLA to support the SOLA Regional Youth Leadership Summit and support Programs with their youth initiatives. Additionally, this position will be responsible for reporting and other support related to sport and youth leadership development in the SOLA Region, including financial/programmatic reporting, identification and development of youth leadership best practice resources, and (in partnership with SO Program staff) direct engagement and development of Special Olympics youth leaders.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not _limited _to the following:
- Facilitate the alignment and execution of the Youth and Sport strategic plan throughout various departments and regions.
- Monitor and follow up on grant reports, event calendars, scorecards, and other program-related communications.
- Coordinate and ensure continuous communication support among SOLA internal staff, national offices, and regional partners by organizing and scheduling Youth and Sport-specific meetings/events, as well as cross-functional meetings when necessary.
- Assist in managing the Youth and Sport framework, including educational initiatives and course development.
- Contribute to the creation of project proposals related to youth and sports.
- Maintain consistent communication with the SOLA Regional Organizational Development and Sport staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
Provide daily support for the planning and implementation of youth leadership development initiatives within the Special Olympics SOLA Region.
This includes:
- Assisting with the SOLA Regional Youth Leadership Summit.
- Aiding SOLA Programs in the planning and execution of youth initiatives.
- Offering administrative support for SOLA youth leadership initiatives, which encompasses the management of sub-grants and the programmatic/financial reporting of these sub-grants.
- Providing technical support to SOLA Programs in youth leadership development, including the creation and translation of supporting resources and guides.
- Collaborating with national SO Programs to support SO youth leaders.
- Contributing to the development of project proposals that promote SO Youth Leadership development in the SOLA region.
- Fulfill assigned or delegated tasks promptly as per the schedule.
- Be prepared to work beyond standard hours when necessary to meet job requirements and deadlines.
**Required Qualifications**:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher educational level.
- Profound understanding of volunteer management.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- The capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, globally diverse setting with meticulous attention to detail.
- Competence in developing proposals and concept notes.
- Robust abilities in strategic planning and evaluation.
- Proven experience in event and program management, with a familiarity with budgeting being beneficial.
- Proven expertise in drafting, editing, and proofreading documents, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Bilingual editorial skills in English and Spanish are considered an asset.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel, work extra hours as needed, and meet job requirements and deadlines.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
