Job Summary

This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the laboratory area, including managing equipment, maintaining lab spaces, and ensuring safety precautions are followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with ongoing marine biology research projects, which may involve laboratory, field, or library research.
  • Provide hands-on training and mentorship for undergraduate thesis students.
  • Organize and participate in weekly lab meetings.
  • Assist with organizing seminars, symposia, workshops, and trainings.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and at least 2 years of experience in biology, environmental science, oceanography, or a related field.
  • Customer service attitude and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Organization and decision-making skills.
  • Experience or knowledge about mangroves is a plus.
  • Driver's license.
  • Experience working with STRI administrative processes is a plus.
