Essential:

- BA and Master’s degrees required
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the field of education, preferably including a combination of teaching and administration.
- Recommended bilingual in English and Spanish

Strongly Preferred:

- MA in Educational Leadership;
- Experience in an international school setting

**QUALIFICATIONS, ABILITIES, & EXPERIENCE FOR THE JOB**:

- Successful experience as a teacher at the secondary level, preferably in the IB Diploma Program (DP) or Middle Years Program (MYP) or
- Successful experience in a student support role (counselor, EAL specialist, student support services provider)
- A comprehensive understanding of the developmental needs of secondary school students
- An understanding of curriculum development: Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Blended Learning (BL), and Standards-based Grading and Reporting (SBGR)
- A passion for education

- Proven successful experience in a leadership role

Collaborates closely with Assistant High School Principal for Academic Innovation, Heads of Department, Instructional Coach, K-12 Coordinators and Specialists, and other colleagues as appropriate.

**HS Assistant Principal for Student Wellbeing Role**:
The primary function of the HS Assistant Principal of Student Wellbeing at the International School of Panama is to assist the Principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff, and parents. This student well-being leadership role is inspired by two of the Four Challenging Objectives of the ISP Strategic Plan 22-27:

- #2- Robust Support Systems: Design and establish Multi-tiered Systems of Support to ensure inclusive and flexible pathways for success.
- #3- Emphasis on Character and Wellness: Develop character competencies through holistic learning experiences, extracurricular activities, intentionally teaching leadership skills, and incorporating wellness practices.

The High School Assistant Principal of Student well-being is a critical leader who works in partnership with and assists the Principal to build a cohesive team, supports and leads the HS faculty and staff, and works to ensure outstanding results are measurably achieved. The Assistant Principal for Student well-being may act in the capacity of the principal during the principal’s absence from the school.
