**Qualification must haves**:
- Post secondary degree preferred
- Excellent English communications skills (oral and written).
- Good knowledge of basic networking principles (NAT, DNS, TCP, UDP)
- Proficient knowledge of SIP protocol (rfc3261), ability to read SIP packet captures (pcap), and basic understaning of RTP, and experience with diagnostic tools such as Wireshark
- Familiarity with VolP softphones (for testing purposes) along with their basic configurations
- Great customer service skills.
**Not essential but Appreciated**:
- Experience with VM environments
- Working knowledge of Linux (Debian/Ubuntu preferred)
- Scripting in PERL, Bash
- Basic knowledge of PERL and BASH scripting

- Technical Support Specialist_
**Position Summary**:
**Essential Resposibilities**:
- Provide customer support and participate in new customer on-boarding with demos and training
- Monitor the platform and network elements to ensure proper performance and utilization to support our products and services and our customers
- Utilize network and equipment monitoring tools to identify and initiate activities to avoid service disruption on a proactive basis
- Strong ability to diagnose server or network alerts, events or issues
- Work independently (and with Management) to continuously improve and or create process and procedures
- Diagnose server or network alerts, events or issues
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Knowledge of Skype and its screen-sharing tools
