Director, Area Business Control Americas Wärtsilä is leading the transition towards a 100% renewable energy future. We are looking for a Director, Finance & Control, Area AMER.
As a Director, Finance & Control you will lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting and other finance related activities, which will guide Area management towards achieving sustained growth and profitability, in compliance with corporate guidelines and IFRS/IAS. The ultimate goal of this position is to support business decision-making and mitigate the risks in order to ensure profitable business. You will be a member of the AMER Management Team, for and in matrix for Energy Business Finance & Business Control, and reporting to Vice President, AMER. The preferred location is AMER Area locations; Panama City, Houston, Texas or Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
**Main Responsibilities**: Lead the Area Finance & Business Control team and ensure professional competence development and optimal resourcing. Ensure reliable and high-quality financial information is in place necessary to steer and develop the profitability and growth of the Area. Lead the long
- and short-term financial planning of the business unit and support in strategy implementation. Partner with key stakeholders to enable informative decisions that will maximize business results.
Undertake leadership responsibilities as a member of the Area Management Team and ensure the ability to support all functions of the Area. Drive financial compliance implementation in the Area. As a member of the Management Team, participate in defining the strategies and action plans as well as the overall development of the Area. Drive a cultural change into learn fast / scale fast approach, as well as strong focus on cross team cooperation.
Based on financial business information proactively analyses business opportunities and make proposals for business development. Market screening and involvement in possible acquisitions.
